Community first screening
Amanene Beyond Voices was recently screnned for the first time in Khayelitsha, South Africa, the community where Major Voices was born. More than a film screening, the event was a celebration of music, resilience and community support.
Held at Isivivana Centre, the evening brought together residents, local artists, and community leaders to honor the journey of Major Voices and the power of music to change lives. The screening was preceded by live performances, including a special appearance by Khayelitsha-born famous artist Bravo Le Roux.
Screening the film at home — surrounded by the people and stories that shaped it — was a deeply symbolic and emotional moment. It marked not only the launch of the documentary, but a collective celebration of hope, perseverance, and the strength of community.
